Corner Brook sits in a hilly mountainside overlooking the waters of the Humber Arm on Newfoundland's west coast. The major industry is pulp and paper and the City is establishing itself as a Centre of Environmental Excellence.
Corner Brook and region is a four season tourist destination.
Marble Mountain is a world class downhill ski resort just minutes away from the City. Snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and the Annual Corner Brook Winter Carnival are also popular during the winter months. The fall foliage in the Humber Valley is nothing short of spectacular, attracting thousands of tourists each year.
During the summer, tourists and residents enjoy kayaking, canoeing and salmon fishing on the mighty Humber River. In July, the City comes alive for the Annual ITU World Cup Triathlon and Tri-Fest. Corner Brook is also a short drive from Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which offers breathtaking scenery and an abundance of outdoor activities.
The streets here are free from overcrowding, but the warm hospitality of the people is second to none.
